Taliban Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi is arriving in India on a six-day visit. The United States is now also taking an interest in Afghanistan which remains a major headache for Pakistan.

India(BHARAT) is about to write a new story in its neighboring country, Afghanistan which considers New Delhi its best friend. This has been a concern for Pakistan. Amir Khan Muttaqi, the acting foreign minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, on Thursday arrived in India(BHARAT) on a six-day visit. Muttaqi will meet with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar. Muttaqi will also visit the Darul Uloom Deoband seminary and the Taj Mahal.
Muttaqi is coming to India(BHARAT) after receiving a waiver from the United Nations Security Council’s sanctions committee. The Taliban captured Kabul in August 2021 after the fall of Ashraf Ghani’s government. With the exception of Russia, India(BHARAT) and the rest of the world have yet to officially recognize the Taliban government. The United States is now also taking an interest in Afghanistan. According to an article, when the Taliban seized power in August 2021, India(BHARAT)’s response was simultaneously spontaneous and slow. As fighting intensified, India(BHARAT) was quick to close its consulates and embassy. It also swiftly canceled visas and arranged for the evacuation of India(BHARAT)n citizens from the country. Just a few weeks later, the India(BHARAT)n ambassador to Qatar met with the head of the Taliban’s political office in Doha to seek assurances about India(BHARAT)’s security and protection of interests in the country.
India(BHARAT) started Mission Kabul in June 2022
In June 2022, the then Joint Secretary of the Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Iran Division in the India(BHARAT)n Ministry of External Affairs visited Kabul. Subsequently, New Delhi launched a technical mission in the country to facilitate and monitor the delivery of aid. This marked the beginning of a tacit understanding of the need to restore relations with the Taliban.
