Rajasthan SHOCKER! Woman strangles newborn son to death hours after birth due to…

Rajasthan Murder: In a shocking incident, a woman allegedly strangled her newborn son to death, hours after giving birth to the child at government-run hospital in Churu district of Rajasthan.

According to the police, the incident took place on Thursday night, when the accused, 40-year-old Guddi Devi, gave birth to her fifth child. Later, hours after giving, Guddi allegedly strangled the newborn to death while other family members were asleep, they said.

“A few hours later, while the other family members were asleep in the hospital ward, she killed the infant by strangulation,” said Kotwali Station House Officer (SHO) Sukhram Chotiya.

Why Guddi Devi killed her newborn child?

The officer, citing preliminary investigation, said Guddi Devi committed the horrendous act because she was struggling under severe financial stress and mental distress. Guddi’s husband, Tarachand, is unable to earn a livelihood to support the family as he is paralysed and bedridden, police said.

“She reportedly told her relatives that she could not bear the burden of raising another child,” police said, adding that the incident came to light on early Friday morning when Guddi’s older sister, Maina Devi, noticed that the newborn was not moving.

“She saw deep marks on the baby’s neck and immediately alerted the doctors, who declared the infant dead,” the SHO said.

A post-mortem confirmed death by strangulation, and police have registered a case of murder against the woman, based on the sister’s complaint.

“The accused is still undergoing post-delivery treatment at the hospital. She will be arrested once she is declared medically fit,” Chotiya said.
