Ramesh Sippy-Hema Malini's Seeta Aur Geeta in real life: How twins separated at birth reunited after 19 years

Generally, films are inspired by real-life stories and we often call movies the reflection of society. On the contrary, we discovered a new case, which looks inspired by Ramesh Sippy’s Seeta Aur Geeta featuring Hema Malini in a lead role.

Identical twins from Georgia named Amy Khvitia and Ano Sartania were taken away from their mother just after they were born and sold to separate families in 2005. The duo found each other through a viral TikTok video and a talent show.

How they found each other

When the twins were just 12 years old, Amy was watching her favourite TV show, ‘Georgia’s Got Talent’ and saw a girl dancing, who bore an uncanny resemblance to her. On the other hand, in November 2021 Ano received a TikTok video featuring a woman with blue hair who looked exactly like her.

The mother of the twins Aza Shoni had fallen into a coma due to undisclosed birth complications in 2002 and her husband, Gocha Gakharia made a cruel decision to sell twins to different families.

While Ano was raised in Tbilisi, the upbringing of Amy happened in Zugdidi. Through the university WhatsApp group, someone connected them on Facebook. “I have been looking for you for so long!” Amy Khvitia messaged to which Ano Sartania replied, “Me too.”

“Every time I learned something new about Ano, things got stranger,” Amy Khvitia said before meeting Ano.

“It was like looking in a mirror, the exact same face, exact same voice. I am her and she is me,” said Amy Khvitia while Ano Sartania responded, “I don’t like hugs, but I hugged her.”

Ano said that she is “angry and upset with my family, but I just wanted the difficult conversations to be over so that we could all move on”.
