Ratna Pathak on Bollywood back in 80s-90s

Ratna Pathak Shah revealed that during that time, Bollywood lacked ‘real writers’. When asked why it took such a long time to make a film like Dhak Dhak, the actress said that Bollywood had no writers for a very long time.

She added that back in the 80s and 90s, she just got to watch plain copies of Hollywood movies, being passed off as originals. “Some of our best-known films are frame-by-frame copies,” she said. The celebrated actress went on to add that the industry has previously wasted a lot of time being happy to work on the same kind of things over and over again.

Ratna Pathak Shah further added that the Bollywood audience recently got the opportunity to see what is taking place in the other parts of the world and this is most likely due to the arrival of the online world.

All about Dhak Dhak

Now, talking about Ratna Pathak Shah’s professional commitments, she will next be seen sharing screen space with Dia Mirza, Fatima Sana Sheikh and Sanjana Sanghi in the forthcoming adventure drama, Dhak Dhak.

The film will share the tale of four women, who embark on a bike trip to the highest motorable pass in the world.

Jointly bankrolled by BLM Pictures, Outsider Flims Productions and Viacom18 Studios, the highly awaited drama will be hitting the silver screens on 13 October.

Talking about learning how to ride a motorcycle at the age of 65 for Dhak Dhak, Bollywood Hungama quoted Ratna Pathak Shah as saying, “I have driven bikes in my dreams many times. I used to look at bike riders and think that someday I will too ride a bike but I didn’t know that at the age of 65, I will have to ride a bike.”
