A blast, that shook Delhi, occurred on Monday evening in a Hyundai i20 car which was parked near Lal Qila Metro Station. What we know so far -
Delhi Blast: At least nine people were dead and as many as 20 people sustained injuries after a blast occurred in a car near Red Fort on Monday evening. As per initial reports, the blast took place in a Hyundai i20 car at 6:52 pm near the Red Fort Metro Station. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah took stock of the situation and extended condolences to those who lost their lives in the incident.

Delhi Police Detailed Hyundai i20 Owner
The Delhi Police promptly took action and detained the Hyundai i20 owner, the car in which the blast occurred. The car owner has been identified as Md Salman and was detained in Gurugram. Salman told police that he sold the vehicle to a person from Okhla area. However, the car, with a Haryana number plate, was registered in his name.
“Delhi Police along with Gurugram police detained Md Salman on Monday and is questioning him about the car. He had sold it to a person in Okhla named Devendra. Later, the vehicle was again sold to someone in Ambala and police are tracing the people,” PTI quoted a senior police officer as saying.
Chandni Chowk Market Will Remain Closed
Market association president Sanjay Bhargaw stated that following the incident Chandni Chowk market will remain closed on Tuesday.
High Alert In Delhi, Bihar, Maharashtra, UPAnd Other States
Chandni Chowk market will remain closed on Tuesday, PTI cited market association president Sanjay Bhargaw saying.”All security agencies have also been alerted. Police in all districts of Uttar Pradesh have been put on alert. An order was issued from Lucknow to increase patrols and checks in sensitive areas,” ANI quoted Uttar Pradesh ADG law and order Amitabh Yash saying. Following the incident, a high alert has been sounded in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Bihar, Kerala, Chandigarh, Haryana and Rajasthan. Chandni Chowk market will remain closed on Tuesday.
As per Uttar Pradesh ADG law and order Amitabh Yash, police of the state have been put on high alert. “All security agencies have also been alerted. Police in all districts of Uttar Pradesh have been put on alert. An order was issued from Lucknow to increase patrols and checks in sensitive areas,” he said.
