New York: It is no secret that Rishabh Pant and Virat Kohli are good friends. Time and again, they have been spotted joking and pulling each other’s legs during cricket matches. During IPL 2024, fans got a taste of their friendship when Pant showed the audacity to sledge Kohli while serving a ban. While Pant was trying to distract Kohli from behind the sight screen, the latter too was spotted gesturing and saying ‘I’ll hit you. Sit down,” reacting to Delhi Capitals captain’s antics.
Recently, Pant has opened up on that incident and revealed what exactly transpired.
“It happened during the RCB game. I was banned without doing anything. I tried a lot to prevent it but it was uncontrollable, not in my hands. Sitting outside I thought I’ll disturb the mindset or something because the RCB dressing room is right behind the sightscreen. At first I did not know. I thought they are calling their own teammates. Then when I realised, I thought I might as well tease him a little more. I didn’t give him the chance to say anything because I escaped,” Pant said on ‘Aap ki Adaalat’.
In a few hours from now, both Pant and Kohli will unite for India in their T20 WC 2024 match against Pakistan in New York. Given their form and past record versus the arch-rivals, it is safe to say Rohit Sharma’s men start hot favourites.
The match starts at 8:00 PM and would be played at the Nassau County cricket ground where a full house is expected.
