Saba Azad Says Relationship With Hrithik Roshan Hindered Voice-Over Career Opportunities: ‘Lost a Whole…’

Hrithik Roshan and Saba Azad are one of the cutest couples in the B-town industry. While Hrithik is one of the top actors in the industry, Saba is a renowned singer as well as an actor. However, not many people know that Saba is also a voiceover artist. In a series of Instagram stories, the actor revealed that she hasn’t had an opportunity to do voice-overs for years, attributing this to her relationship with Hrithik Roshan.

In her Instagram Stories, Saba shared that she is finally back to doing voice-overs after nearly two and a half years. She recalled a time when she would do 6-7 voice-overs a month, but this gradually decreased until she had no work for years. This occurred despite her never announcing a hiatus or increasing her fees. In one of the stories, Saba revealed that a renowned director once assumed she would not be interested in voice-overs due to her relationship with Roshan. She didn’t spell it out, but she wrote, “Well, you can imagine what was implied… He didn’t think I would do a job like a VO given where you are in life, ie who I am dating.” She also calls him a ‘super progressive, chill’ person.

She continued, “Are we really still living in the dark ages where we assume a woman in a relationship with a successful partner no longer has to put food on her own table? Or pay her rent and bills? Or take pride in her work and take care of herself and her family? What kind of an archaic assumption is that?”

“So I basically lost a whole career that I absolutely loved and appreciated because people thought I didn’t need to work anymore? This is sadly a one-dimensional patriarchal and regressive mindset,” she wrote.

She concluded, “For the uninitiated when two strong independent individuals come together, they don’t give up their identities or their lives and careers to do so. They hold on to their individuality and share a place of freedom and strength. Losing a whole career because of someone else’s presumptuous ignorance really hurts. So again, no, I haven’t quit, all ye makers of ads – I still do VOs. So please, for the love of God, undo your assumptions and let’s get recording already.”

Meanwhile, Saba Azad and Hrithik Roshan have been in a relationship for quite some time and have made it public. Previously, Roshan was married to Sussanne Khan, while Saba Azad was in a relationship with Imad Khan.
