The much-anticipated Samsung Galaxy S23 FE has made its debut in India, serving as a follow-up to the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE, given that Samsung never launched the S22 FE. This also led to rumours that Samsung had killed off the FE versions of their S devices.

The Galaxy S23 FE is positioned as a more affordable alternative to the flagship Galaxy S23 series that was introduced earlier this year.

Priced under Rs 60,000, the new Samsung premium smartphone is all set to be available for purchase via Amazon. Here’s a look at its key features, specifications, and other pertinent details.

Samsung Galaxy S23 FE: Features and specs
The Samsung Galaxy S23 FE boasts a compact 6.3-inch FHD+ OLED display, offering the standard 120Hz refresh rate commonly found in Android phones across various price points. At the top of the screen, there’s a centre-aligned hole-punch cutout for the front camera. The back panel design mirrors that of the flagship S23 series. In the Indian market, the device is powered by Samsung’s Exynos 2200 chipset, diverging from the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC found in other regions.

In the realm of photography, the smartphone houses a triple rear camera setup, comprising a 50MP camera equipped with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 12MP ultrawide sensor, and an 8MP telephoto camera. On the front, there’s a 10MP camera sensor designed for selfies and video calls.

This premium 5G device also features an in-display fingerprint scanner for secure biometric authentication. It’s fueled by a 4,500mAh battery and supports 25W fast charging, although this may be considered modest by some, especially when many smartphones in its category offer at least 80W fast charging. Notably, Samsung has opted not to include a charger in the retail box, aligning with its recent practice.

Samsung asserts that the phone can charge from 0 to 50 per cent in just 30 minutes. The device offers various connectivity options, including Wi-Fi, GPS, NFC, and Bluetooth 5.3. It’s also backed by an IP68 rating, signifying dust and splash resistance.

Samsung Galaxy S23 FE: Pricing and availability
In India, the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE will be available at an attractive starting price of Rs 49,999 for the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant.

Originally priced at Rs 59,999, this device will be offered with a substantial Rs 10,000 discount through HDFC Bank. As a result of this promotion, the effective cost of the phone will be reduced to Rs 49,999. Prospective buyers can get their hands on this handset starting from October 5, and early deliveries are set to commence on October 7. The phone will be offered in a range of appealing colours, including Mint, Cream, Graphite, Purple, Indigo, and Tangerine.
