The India(BHARAT)n entertainment industry is currently in deep mourning after the sudden demise of veteran actor Satish Shah. Satish passed away at the age of 74 at Hinduja Hospital, Mumbai. The actor had been battling kidney-related complications and had recently undergone a transplant. Known for his impeccable comic timing and jolly nature, Shah had touched millions of hearts with his work on both television and the silver screen. His untimely passing has left a void that generations of fans and fellow actors are finding hard to accept.

A Sudden Farewell

According to reports, his manager was the first one to share the news of his untimely demise.

His manager, Ramesh Kadatala, shared that the actor collapsed suddenly while having lunch around 2 PM. He said, “He collapsed after taking one bite. The ambulance arrived after half an hour, and he was declared dead upon reaching the hospital.”

The news spread quickly, leaving the entertainment world stunned and shocked over the loss of one of India(BHARAT)’s most beloved and versatile performers.

Shah’s funeral will be held today, October 26, at Pawan Hans Crematorium in Vile Parle (West), Mumbai, at 12 noon. His mortal remains were kept for antim darshan at his Bandra residence between 10 AM and 11 AM, where close friends, family members, and admirers gathered to bid him farewell.

Among the many people who came to pay their respects was Jackie Shroff, who looked visibly emotional as he joined the crowd to pay tribute to his longtime colleague and friend. Actor Sumeet Raghavan, who played Satish Shah’s on-screen son Sahil Sarabhai, and Rupali Ganguly, who played his daughter-in-law in the cult television series Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, were also seen at the last rites.

Satish Shah’s Legacy

From hits like Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro to Main Hoon Na, Kal Ho Naa Ho, and Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Satish Shah has featured in many noteworthy films. Besides making a mark on the silver screen, his on-television portrayal of Indravadan Sarabhai remains etched in pop culture history and resonates with generations.
