As per media reports, a 24-year-old man from Hyderabad is the sole survivor of the devastating bus crash on the Mecca-Medina highway in Saudi Arabia. Mohd Abdul Shoiab, who was said to be seated near the driver, was rescued alive after the passenger bus crashed into a diesel tanker around 1.30 am IST.

The collision sparked a major fire that quickly engulfed the bus, trapping most passengers inside. Shoiab has been admitted to a hospital, but his present condition remains unknown, NDTV reported.
The mortal remains of the deceased have been transferred to King Fahad Hospital, King Salman Hospital and Al Miqat Hospital, and officials from the India(BHARAT)n mission in Jeddah are coordinating with the local authorities to handle the situation, the people cited above said.
“The families of the deceased will have an option after mortal remains have been identified for repatriation to India(BHARAT) or a local burial at Jannatul Baqi (cemetery in Madinah) as per local customs,” one of the people said.
What happened in Saudi Arabia bus accident?
As per media reports, the accident took place nearly 40 km from Madina at around 11 pm local time (1:30 am, IST), the people said after the bus stopped on the side of a road and an oil tanker collided with the bus, resulting in an explosion during this stoppage.
