Delhi Blast update: Another associate of Umar arrested in Srinagar, used to make drones and rockets; Use of ‘Mother of Satan’ being probed

New Delhi: In the Delhi blast case, the NIA arrested another associate of terrorist Umar, Jaseer Bilal Wani alias Danish, from Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir. It is alleged that Jaseer provided technical support to terrorist Umar, modified drones for explosions, and also attempted to make rockets.
According to the NIA, Jaseer is a key associate of terrorist Umar. He is a resident of Qazikund, Anantnag. He played an active role in the Delhi blasts and was involved in planning the blasts along with Dr Umar.
Aamir provided Umar with a safe house
Regarding Aamir Rashid Ali, arrested in Delhi, it has been revealed that he provided Umar with a safe house before the blast and also helped in making IEDs. The NIA made these arguments in the Special NIA Court on Monday, 17 November 2025, to obtain Aamir’s custody.
Amir, arrested in Delhi on Sunday, November 16, was produced in court today. The entire hearing was held in a closed room. Only officials and lawyers related to the case were present. The NIA had demanded extended custody. The car used in the Delhi blast is in Aamir’s name.
Shoe bomb suspected in the blast
Security agencies suspect the use of a shoe bomb in this blast. According to sources, investigating agencies recovered a shoe from the exploded car. Investigation revealed traces of ammonium nitrate and TATP, which are being considered initial clues.
TATP is considered a highly dangerous and sensitive explosive often used by terrorists. It can explode with a slight shock, friction, or even a little heat. For this reason, it is known as the “Mother of Satan”.
The NIA announced on Sunday that Dr Umar Nabi, who was driving the car, was a suicide bomber. This is the first time any security agency has officially confirmed this. This confirms that the blast was a suicide attack. The November 10 Delhi blast killed 15 people and injured more than 20.
What is a shoe bomb?
A shoe bomb is an explosive device concealed inside a shoe. Its purpose is to evade security checks and transport the explosive to an aircraft, a crowded area, or a sensitive location.
It is typically constructed by concealing explosive material (such as PETN) in the sole or inner lining of the shoe. A detonation system (trigger) can be installed, which the attacker can attempt to activate while sitting inside.
