‘Seema, Sweety, Saraswati’: Rahul Gandhi makes sensational claim with ‘100% proof’, says Brazilian model voted 22 times in Haryana

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday launched a strong attack on the BJP and the Election Commission, accusing them of massive voter fraud in the 2024 Haryana Assembly elections. Calling it the moment to drop his “H bomb,” Gandhi alleged that there had been large-scale “vote chori” (vote theft) in the state. Gandhi claimed he had “100 per cent proof” of the fraud, saying that 25 lakh fake votes, around 12 per cent of Haryana’s total voters, were added to the rolls. He called it a “systemic manipulation” that turned a Congress win into a loss.

“Haryana has 2 crore voters, and 25 lakh of them are fake,” Gandhi said at a press conference in Delhi. He added that his team had found 5.21 lakh duplicate voter entries. “One in every eight voters in Haryana is fake.”

During the briefing, Gandhi showed slides highlighting problems in the voter lists, including one strange example i.e. a Brazilian model’s photo that allegedly appeared several times under different names. “This Brazilian woman’s photo appears 22 times in the voter list under different names: ‘Sweety, Seema, Saraswati, Rashmi, Vimla” he said.

He further questioned why the Election Commission had not acted. “The Election Commission can remove duplicates in a second. Why don’t they do it? Reason: they are helping the BJP,” Gandhi said, pointing to several voter IDs showing the same photos but with different names.

The leader also claimed that thousands of BJP workers and leaders were registered as voters in both Uttar Pradesh and Haryana, accusing them of double voting. “A BJP leader living at house no.150, the vice chairman of Palwal Zila Parishad, has 66 voters registered at his address. One man has 500 voters registered at his home,” he alleged.

Naming more people, Gandhi said, “Dalchand, a BJP leader, is voting in both UP and Haryana. BJP sarpanch in Mathura, Prahlad, is doing the same. The number is in thousands.”

He also raised questions about fake addresses, saying many were listed as ‘House no. Zero’, a category meant for homeless individuals.

“We physically found men marked as House no. Zero who were actually living in their homes,” Gandhi said. “We cross-checked. The chief election commissioner is lying to the people of India(BHARAT). This is not a mistake and not about homeless people.”

Gandhi said his claims were supported by verified data, adding that he was questioning not just the Election Commission but the democratic process itself.

“Why is the ECI not removing fake voters? If they do, it will make for fair elections. The EC doesn’t want fair polls,” he said. “This is crystal clear proof of what the BJP is doing — and that the EC is helping them.”

In September, Gandhi had accused CEC Kumar of protecting those who “destroyed democracy” and cited data from Karnataka Assembly constituency Aland to claim that votes of Congress supporters were being systematically deleted ahead of elections.

In August, Gandhi, citing data from the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, had claimed that over one lakh votes were “stolen” through manipulation in Mahadevapura assembly segment in Karnataka.

Meanwhile, sources in the Election Commission rejected Gandhi’s allegations. They said there had been “zero appeals” filed against Haryana’s voter lists. They also mentioned that only 22 election petitions were pending in the Punjab and Haryana High Court out of 90 assembly seats, showing that there had been very few legal challenges to the election results.

The BJP won 48 seats in the 2024 assembly polls. The Congress, which was predicted to win by many exit polls, won 37 seats. The INLD won two seats while independent candidates bagged three in the 90-member Assembly.
