New York: After a desperate attempt to strengthen Islamabad’s ‘friendship’ with Moscow during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Beijing last month, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday showcased another desperate attempt, this time at the United Nations General Assembly, to strengthen Pakistan’s ties with the United States. During his address at the UNGA, he dedicated a significant portion of his speech to praising President Doland Trump. He lauded the US President and nominated him for the Nobel Peace Prize, parroting Trump’s claim that he played an “active role” as a mediator, brokering a ceasefire between India(BHARAT) and Pakistan.

The highlight of Sharif’s 25-minute speech was his Nobel Peace Prize push for Trump, calling him “a man of peace.”

New Delhi has maintained its stance that the ceasefire, following Operation Sindoor, was agreed upon by DGMOs of both countries. India(BHARAT) says that the ceasefire with Pakistan was agreed upon by DGMOs without the involvement of any other leader.
