Sheikh Hasina’s son issues BIG statement ahead of elections, says Yunus government turning Bangladesh into…, India needs to…

New Delhi: Sajeb Wazed Joy, son and adviser of the ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, has leveled serious allegations against the interim government led by Muhammad Yunus. Sajeb Wazed Joy has said that the interim government led by Muhammad Yunus in Dhaka is trying to steer the country toward Islamic rule, which has also created a major security threat for India(BHARAT). This statement comes as political atmosphere in Bangladesh is heating up over the proposed general elections scheduled for February next year and the ban imposed on the participation of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s party, the Awami League.

In an exclusive interview with The India(BHARAT)n Express, 54-year-old Sajeb Wazed Joy said that the Yunus government is giving free rein to Jamaat-e-Islami and other Islamic parties and is attempting to bring them to power through election rigging.

The interview has come at a time when India(BHARAT), expressing serious concern over the deteriorating security situation in Bangladesh and the activities of extremist elements threatening the India(BHARAT)n High Commission, has summoned Bangladesh’s High Commissioner in New Delhi.

On the issue of growing proximity between Bangladesh’s interim government and Pakistan, Joy said this is a matter of serious concern for India(BHARAT). According to him, during the Awami League government, India(BHARAT)’s eastern borders were safe from terrorism. He warned that in earlier periods, Bangladesh was used as a base to spread insurgency and terrorism in India(BHARAT), and that situation could return again.

“Bangladesh is being pushed toward a failed Islamic state” – Wazed

Reiterating his earlier remarks made after the death sentence pronounced against Sheikh Hasina, Joy said that Bangladesh is rapidly moving toward becoming a failed Islamic state. He alleged that the Yunus government has given a free hand to Jamaat-e-Islami and other Islamic parties.

According to Joy, Islamic parties in Bangladesh have never received more than five percent of the vote. However, by keeping the Awami League and other progressive and liberal parties out of the elections, a rigged poll is being conducted to install Islamic forces in power.
