Taliban issues BIG statement after Pakistan killed its cricketers, says it will not…, to keep an eye on Doha peace talks

Despite Pakistan’s airstrike on Friday night, the Taliban has decided to attend a ceasefire meeting in Doha, the capital of Qatar. A statement issued by the Taliban stated that Pakistan’s attack is condemnable, but that it will not retaliate in the interest of regional peace. Taliban official spokesperson Zabihullah Muhajid issued a statement on the social media platform X regarding this. Pakistan launched an attack in Afghanistan’s Paktika province on Friday night, killing at least three local cricketers.

Several Afghan civilians were also killed in the attack, further jeopardizing security and peace in the region. The Afghan Taliban strongly condemned the attack, calling it a violation of the sanctity of Afghan territory and an attempt to prolong the war. “As promised, talks with the Pakistani side will take place in Doha today,” Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said on X. “A high-level delegation from the Islamic Emirate, led by respected Defense Minister Maulvi Mohammad Yaqoob Mujahid, visited Doha today.”

He wrote that “Once again last night, Pakistani military forces carried out airstrikes on civilian areas in Paktika, in which many civilians were martyred and injured. The Islamic Emirate strongly condemns the repeated crimes committed by Pakistani military forces and the violation of the sanctity of Afghanistan.”
