The Epstein Files: New revelations on how many times Trump met Epstein, flown in his private jet, and role of Ghislaine Maxwell
US Department of Justice claim that Donald Trump travelled on Jeffrey Epstein's private jet multiple times.
New Delhi: Files released by the US Department of Justice claim that Doland Trump travelled on Jeffrey Epstein’s private jet multiple times between 1993 and 1996. However, the DOJ has called these claims baseless. Trump has denied any wrongdoing. These revelations have reignited the political debate in the US.
Fresh Documents Released On The US DOJ Website
The political landscape in America has once again been stirred up. Fresh documents released on the US Department of Justice (DOJ) website claim that current US President Trump traveled on the private jet of notorious businessman Jeffrey Epstein at least eight times. These flights are said to have taken place between 1993 and 1996. Following this revelation, the debate in American politics and media has intensified.
Information Recovered From An Internal Email
According to the documents, this information came to light in an internal email dated January 7, 2020, which stated that Trump traveled on Epstein’s private jet more times than previously reported. This email was sent under the subject “RE: Epstein flight records”. Although the names of the sender and recipient of the email have been kept confidential, it is said to be signed by an Assistant US Attorney for the Southern District of New York.
Flight Details And Fellow Passengers
According to the email, Doland Trump was listed as a passenger on at least eight flights. Ghislaine Maxwell’s presence is also recorded on four of these flights. The document also states that on some trips, Trump was accompanied by his then-wife Marla Maples, daughter Tiffany, and son Eric Trump. On one flight, only Epstein and Trump were listed as passengers, while on another flight, the names of Epstein, Trump, and a 20-year-old man were recorded, whose name has been kept confidential.
DOJ’s Stance and Trump’s Defense
Following the release of these documents, the US Department of Justice (DOJ) clarified that the recent files include some false and sensational claims against Trump. The DOJ stated that these allegations were sent to the FBI shortly before the 2020 US election and lacked any concrete basis. The department also clarified that being named in flight logs is not proof of any wrongdoing. Trump has consistently maintained that he severed ties with Epstein around 2004 and had no involvement in any illegal activities.
Epstein Files and Released Documents
This email is part of approximately 8,000 documents that the US Department of Justice released this week under the Epstein Files Transparency Act. These files also include hundreds of audio-video recordings and surveillance footage from August 2019, when Epstein was found dead in jail. Epstein’s associate, Ghislaine Maxwell, was sentenced in 2022 to 20 years in prison for sex trafficking and sexual abuse of minors. These new documents have once again fueled old controversies and political accusations in the United States.
