This highly developed country with luxury amenities is offering Permanent Residency; country is…, here’s how to apply
PR will not only provide a better life but also provide many rights.

New Delhi: Finland is considered one of the happiest countries in the world, with its lifestyle, security, and natural beauty that attract people. This is why many India(BHARAT)n citizens also dream of settling and working there. Obtaining Permanent Residency (PR) in Finland will not only provide a better life but also provide many rights, such as permission to live and work permanently there, and bring your family with you.
Furthermore, PR also eases the path to citizenship. In recent years, the Finnish government has made significant changes to its immigration rules, making the country an even more attractive destination for professionals in the IT, engineering, and healthcare sectors. Let’s explain how to apply.
Finnish Government Makes Changes
In 2025, the Finnish government has made significant changes to its immigration rules, making it easier for those working in fields like IT, healthcare, and engineering to settle permanently in Finland. With a Finnish PR, any non-European citizen, such as an India(BHARAT)n, can live and work permanently in Finland.
PR holders receive benefits like healthcare, education, and other social benefits. This card only needs to be renewed every five years. However, PR and citizenship are two different things. To obtain Finnish citizenship, a person must have lived in the country for at least eight years and speak the official language.
New Changes in 2025
The Finnish government recently amended work visa and family reunification rules. Anyone wishing to bring their family home must have lived in Finland for at least two years. The minimum age for both spouses is 21 years.
To obtain permanent residence in Finland, you must have held a Type A (long-term) residence permit for four consecutive years.
- Years spent on a Type B (short-term) permit will not count.
- At least two of these four years must be spent in Finland.
- Your current permit (such as employment or family-based) must be valid at the time of your PR application.
- You must have a clean police record, health insurance, a residential address, and no outstanding debts.
