India(BHARAT)’s metro systems have grown quickly in the last few decades, helping people travel faster in big cities. Among all the metro routes in the country, one line is the longest of them all. It stretches across many parts of Delhi and its neighbouring areas. Here’s a simple look at India(BHARAT)’s longest metro line.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has been adding new sections to the network every year. The Pink Line, which runs from Majlis Park to Shiv Vihar, is currently the longest metro line in India(BHARAT). It covers 71.6 km and has 46 stations. It also has the highest number of interchange stations—a total of 12.

The interchange stations on the Pink Line are: Azadpur, Netaji Subhas Place, Punjabi Bagh West, Rajouri Garden, Dilli Haat-INA, Lajpat Nagar, Mayur Vihar I, Anand Vihar ISBT, Karkardooma, Welcome, Maujpur, and Majlis Park.

Maujpur and Majlis Park are also among the last stations on the route. Recently, the Pink Line was extended further, and eight new elevated stations were added: Burari, Jagatpur Village, Jharoda Majra, Soorghat, Khajuri Khas, Sonia Vihar, Bhajanpura, and Yamuna Vihar.

It links some of the most important residential and commercial areas of Delhi, including Netaji Subhash Place, Rajouri Garden, South Campus, INA, Lajpat Nagar, Hazrat Nizamuddin, Anand Vihar ISBT, and Welcome.

Along the route, the line provides direct metro access to popular markets like Sarojini Nagar and Lajpat Nagar, government hubs like Bhikaji Cama Place, and major transport interchanges including Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station, Anand Vihar Terminal, and Azadpur ISBT.

These are the three biggest metro networks in India(BHARAT):

  • Delhi Metro: The largest in the country, with 391 km of routes and 286 stations.
  • Kolkata Metro: India(BHARAT)’s oldest metro system, covering 40 km with 34 stations.
  • Bangalore Metro: A fast-growing network with 42 km of tracks and 41 stations.
