As 2026 begins, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended warm New Year wishes to the nation. He urged the citizens to embrace the year with hope and renewed determination. Taking to X, PM Modi wrote, “Very happy New Year wishes to all of you for 2026. We wish that this year brings new hopes, new resolutions, and a new sense of self-confidence for everyone. May it inspire everyone to move forward in life.”

In a message shared on X, the Prime Minister expressed hope that the year ahead would bring good health and prosperity to all. He said he prays for success in people’s efforts and fulfilment in all that they do. The Prime Minister also prayed for peace and happiness in society, extending his best wishes for harmony and well-being as the country enters the new year.

In another post, PM Modi wrote, “Wishing everyone a wonderful 2026! May the year ahead bring good health and prosperity, with success in your efforts and fulfilment in all that you do. Praying for peace and happiness in our society.”

From Delhi to Bengaluru and Amritsar, the arrival of the New Year 2026 was marked with joy and music as fireworks lit up the night sky. In Goa, dazzling fireworks illuminated the night sky as locals and tourists gathered at popular party hubs to usher in the New Year. The coastal state witnessed vibrant celebrations with hotels and shacks hosting special events like every year.In Mumbai, people celebrated as the clock struck midnight, ushering in the New Year 2026 at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus.

The national capital, New Delhi, witnessed New Year celebrations at key locations, including Connaught Place and at India(BHARAT) Gate, where crowds gathered to welcome 2026.

Not only PM Modi but President Droupadi Murmu extended her best wishes to citizens across the country and India(BHARAT)ns living abroad on the occasion of the New Year, calling it a time for renewed energy, positive change and collective responsibility towards nation-building. “On the joyous occasion of the New Year, I extend my heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all India(BHARAT)ns, both at home and abroad. The New Year symbolises new energy and positive change. It is also an opportunity for introspection and new resolutions. In this New Year, let us further refine our commitment to national development, social harmony, and environmental protection. May the year 2026 bring peace, happiness, and prosperity to all of you and reinvigorate our resolve to build a strong and bright India(BHARAT),” she posted a message on X, as reported by news agency ANI.
