Dubai: At a time when India(BHARAT) awaits its first bullet train by 2027 between Ahmedabad and Mumbai, one of its biggest allies, the United Arab Emirates is set to launch its own high-speed rail marvel called the Etihad Rail, connecting key cities like Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Fujairah with speed, luxury and top-tier amenities. Here are all the details you need to know about UAE’s Etihad Rail.

How is UAE’s Etihad Rail special?

The 900 km-long Etihad Rail network of UAE, which took 17 years to build since its launch in 2009, is expected to open to the public in 2026. With a travel time of just 30 minutes between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, the Etihad Rail will pass through 11 cities, offering top-tier amenities such as Wi-Fi, infotainment, and fine dining. As per media reports, the train is projected to serve over 3.65 crore passengers annually by 2030, making it a game-changer in the Middle East’s transport infrastructure.

Route details of UAE’s Etihad Rail

With a sitting capacity of 400 passengers, the train will connect Reem Island, Saadiyat Island and Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, as well as Al Maktoum International Airport in Dubai, passing through 11 cities in 50 minutes, travelling at 200 km\hr.

Meanwhile, PM Modi and UAE President discuss bolstering ties, deepening Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan reaffirmed their commitment to deepen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two nations during a phone call, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said.

As per a report carried by IANS news agency, the two leaders reaffirmed their mutual commitment to further strengthening the bilateral Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between India(BHARAT) and the United Arab Emirates.

“They positively assessed the remarkable progress made across various sectors of bilateral cooperation and laid emphasis on further developing and deepening collaboration for the shared benefit of the peoples of both countries,” read a statement issued by the MEA.
