Imran Khan dead or alive? Adiala Jail administration provides BIG update, denied all rumours claiming…; ‘There is no truth in…’

Pakistan’s Adiala Jail officials on Thursday gave a major update about former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s health. They denied all rumours claiming that he had been taken out of the jail. The authorities said that Khan is still inside Adiala Jail and is doing well. He has been kept in this Rawalpindi prison since 2023. PTI has repeatedly accused the Pakistani military and the government of mistreating him during his time in jail. Khan’s family has also been stopped from meeting him many times, with officials saying it was because of “security concerns.”

According to Geo News, the Rawalpindi jail authorities released a statement saying, “There is no truth in the reports that he has been shifted out of Adiala Jail. He is completely fine and receiving proper medical care.”

The officials further said that all rumours about his health are baseless and stressed that the PTI founder is being looked after properly. For context, Imran Khan has been in jail since August 2023. He was removed from power in April 2022 through a no-confidence vote by the opposition. He faces several cases, including charges related to corruption and terrorism, and has already been sentenced in some of them.

On Wednesday, after false rumours about Imran Khan’s death spread on social media, his three sisters said that police had attacked them when they simply asked to meet him. Noreen Khan, Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan claimed that officers used force against them when they tried to visit their brother, who has been in Adiala Jail since 2023.

They also said that PTI supporters standing outside the jail were beaten as well. These supporters had gathered to request that the authorities let the sisters meet Imran Khan.

Khawaja Asif: “Imran Khan is getting five-star facilities”

On the other side, Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said that Imran Khan is receiving “five-star” treatment inside the jail. He claimed that Khan is given food like that of a luxury hotel and is living comfortably. This is opposite to what his supporters often say, they repeatedly claim that he is being mistreated or that his health is getting worse. But the jail administration has again said that all such statements are false. This is not the first time rumours about Imran Khan’s poor health or even death have spread, but every time the jail officials have called these reports baseless.

Khawaja Asif said, “Look at the menu of the food he gets, even five-star hotels don’t offer that.” He also claimed that the PTI founder has a television and can watch any channel he wants. According to him, Imran Khan even has exercise equipment in jail.

Asif then compared Khan’s situation to his own past jail experience. He said, “We slept on cold floors, ate jail food, and in January we only had two blankets and no hot water.” He recalled that the superintendent at that time, Asad Waraich, even removed the water heater from his cell. Asif further claimed that Imran Khan has been given a double bed and even a velvet mattress.
