Trader Joe's hours for New Year's Day 2026 holiday

Trader Joe’s is closed on New Year's Day, but the stores are open on New Year’s Eve. Stores close early, though, and hours can vary slightly by location, so shoppers are encouraged to check with their local store before heading out on Dec. 31.

Other retailers also close on major holidays to give employees time off with their families. Costco, for example, is known to close on New Year’s Day, Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
