Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar dismissed it as a "publicity stunt by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
New Delhi: Turkey has issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and several senior officials in his government, accusing them of genocide in Gaza. These individuals could be arrested upon arrival in Turkey.
According to a statement from the Turkish Prosecutor’s Office, the 37 suspects include Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz, National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, and Army Chief Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir.
Turkey alleges Israel has committed genocide in Gaza
The full list has not been released yet. Turkey alleges that Israel has systematically committed “genocide and crimes against humanity” in Gaza. The statement also mentions the “Turkish-Palestinian Friendship Hospital” built in Gaza, which was destroyed by Israeli bombing in March.
Meanwhile, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar dismissed it as a “publicity stunt by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.” Last year, Turkiye joined South Africa in suing Israel at the International Court of Justice for genocide.
