The UFC 298 is set to take place in Anaheim, California on 17 February with several prominent fighters expected to be in action. In last week’s UFC 86 Main Card fight, Jack Hermansson of Sweden got the better of American Joe Pyfer with a scoreline of 48-47, 48-47, 48-47. Hermansson landed a total of 188 strikes and 121 significant strikes to hand Pyfer’s first professional defeat since August 2020, when he lost to Dustin Stoltzfus in the Dana White Contender Series.

In a featherweight bout, Dan Ige got the better of Andre Fili whereas in middleweight category, Ihor Potieria defeated Robert Bryczek with the cards reading 30-27, 30-27, 29-28. Michael Johnson, Gregory Rodrigues and Rodolfo Vieira also clinched their respective bouts.

According to a report in CBS Sports, Alexander Volkanovski will take on Ilia Topuria in the featherweight title contest, whereas Robert Whittaker faces Paulo Costa in the middleweight category. Ian Machado Garry and Geoff Neal will lock horns for the welterweight category.

Merab Dvalishvili will fight Henry Cejudo in bantamweights category. Anthony Hernandez will take on Roman Kopylov in another middleweight category fight.
