Ukrainian forces retreat from Avdiivka amid growing Russian threat

In a significant strategic move, Ukrainian military forces have pulled back from the eastern city of Avdiivka to prevent being surrounded, as confirmed by army chief Oleksandr Syrskyi.

This marks a pivotal development on the frontline since Russian forces seized Bakhmut in May last year.

In a statement posted on Facebook, Syrskyi emphasized the decision was made to safeguard the lives and well-being of soldiers, stabilize the situation, and reposition troops to more advantageous defensive positions.
