Vande Bharat sleeper train update: In a significant development in the development towards smooth railway travel, India(BHARAT)n Railways has successfully conducted the high-speed trial of India(BHARAT)’s first Vande Bharat sleeper train on the Kota division of the West Central Railway. Conducted by the Test Directorate team of the Research Designs and Standards Organization (RDSO), Lucknow, the trials are being held from November 2 to 17 to evaluate the train’s performance and safety parameters. Here are all the details you need to know about high-speed trial of India(BHARAT)’s first Vande Bharat sleeper train.
High-speed trial of India(BHARAT)’s first Vande Bharat sleeper train
According to Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Saurabh Jain, the testing is being carried out with a 16-coach sleeper rake on the Sawai Madhopur–Kota–Nagda section. Operated at a maximum speed of 180 kmph to assess its technical efficiency, braking system, stability, vibration levels, and electrical reliability, the test was a huge success for the growth of the India(BHARAT)n Railways.
Under the supervision of RDSO Test Director Radheshyam Tiwari, the trials simulated real passenger conditions. The train carried a load of 800 tons, along with an additional 108 tons of canisters filled with iron dust, bringing the total to 908 tons. According to media reports, the train maintained exceptional stability Despite running at 180 kmph. Interestingly, reports also said that not even a glass of water placed inside spilled during the run.
Update on Vande Bharat sleeper class top speed
The Vande Bharat sleeper successfully completed a 50-kilometre Long Confirmatory Run between Rohalkhurd and Laban stations at top speed. Additional oscillation and wet-track emergency braking tests were conducted to ensure performance reliability across different conditions.
The trials is being seen as a huge success for the India(BHARAT)n Railways as it mark a key milestone in India(BHARAT)’s push towards developing high-speed, long-distance sleeper trains built entirely with indigenous technology.
