New Delhi: Team India all-rounder Riyan Parag attempted an unconventional delivery while bowling against Bangladesh all the way during the second T20I on Wednesday, October 9, however it resulted in a no-ball. This incident came about at some stage within the 11th over of Bangladesh’s innings when Mahmudullah and Mehidy Hasan Miraz were on the crease with Bangladesh at seventy eight/Four.

After conceding eight runs off the first three deliveries, Riyan Parag attempted a slingy action, bowling from on the back of the umpire on the fourth ball of the over.

The umpire immediately which is commonly referred to as it a back-foot no-ball, awarding a free hit to the batter. Fortunately for the hosts, it didn’t prove costly, as simplest a single run came off the free hit. Riyan Parag finished the over strongly by brushing aside Mehidy Hasan Miraz.

After being put in to bat first, India recovered from a top-order give way at forty one/3 to post a formidable total of 221/9 all the way during the first innings. Nitish Kumar Reddy (seventy four), Rinku Singh (53), and Hardik Pandya (32) played pivotal roles for the hosts, while other batters made minor but useful contributions.

The second innings turned into completely dominated by India, as Bangladesh struggled to chase down the target of 222. After collapsing to forty six/Four within 6.5 overs, the visitors never posed a significant threat and not straight away managed to achieve simplest 100 thirty five/9 in 20 overs, losing the match by a convincing margin of 86 runs.

On the post-match presentation, India captain Suryakumar Yadav reflected on his team’s performance. “You should be prepared to assert that we were below pressure at forty one/3 but I wanted the lower order to be tested in that situation. They batted the manner I wanted them to. The message has been loud and clear. Go and express yourself. Do what you can have done to your franchise and state team.”

“Handiest the jersey changes, nothing else. It turned into about trying out what these guys can do. Can they give me one or two overs? It turned into Nitish Kumar Reddy’s day, so I gave him the new ball and told him to go there and make it large,” he added.

Hyderabad will host the 1/3 and final T20I of the series on October 12.
