Water stream and vehicles move upwards at this place in Chhattisgarh, defying gravity; Ghosts, paranormal, or magic? Experts say…

New Delhi: Mainpat is a famous hill station in the Surguja district of Chhattisgarh, which is often called the Shimla of Chhattisgarh. One of the major tourist attractions here is the “Ulta Pani” (reverse water). Here, the water flows upwards, not downwards, i.e., against gravity. A vehicle parked in neutral on the road can slide up the hill for more than 100 meters.

Why is this place anti-gravity

This area of Mainpat has a magnetic field more powerful than the gravitational force, which pulls water and vehicles upwards. According to scientists, there are five such locations nationwide and 64 globally.

According to a Physics expert, “The upward flow of water is possible only if there is a force at that location that is greater than the effective gravitational force. This can pull the water upwards. In an area with upside-down water, there may be several elements that are more powerful than the gravitational force.” However, this is a subject of research.

Five such locations in India(BHARAT) are

  1. Leh, Ladakh
  2. Tulsi Shyam Amreli, Gujarat
  3. Kalo Dungar Kutch-Gujarat
  4. Jogeshwari Vikhroli Link Road, Mumbai
  5. Ultapani, Mainpat, Chhattisgarh

People used to consider it haunted

A senior Mainpat Tourism Officer says, “Until a few years ago, people considered this place haunted. After the tourism department’s publicity, awareness increased. After this, tourists started visiting.”
