Noida techie death case: After the death of the software engineer Yuvraj Mehta, the Uttar Pradesh government has taken action against the Noida Authority CEO, Lokesh M. This comes just some days after the techie drowned as his car fell into the Noida drain in Sector-150. The software engineer passed away due to suffocation under water, along with suffering a cardiac arrest. On January 19, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, had ordered an investigation on the matter. As a result, the CEO of the Noida Authority, M Lokesh, has been removed.
He’s the Chief Executive Officer of the Noida Authority, where the techie drowned due to the alleged negligence. The removal of the CEO came after a probe was ordered by the state’s chief minister.
Who is the IAS M Lokesh?
Born in April 1976, M. Lokesh completed his bachelor’s degree in dental surgery and then prepared for the IAS examination. He’s an officer from the 2005 batch. He has also served in many districts of the state before becoming the CEO of the Noida Authority.
Removal of M Lokesh
The CEO, M Lokesh, had been removed after the negligence on the part of the Noida Authority. The young techie Yuvraj Mehta fell into the deep pit, filled with water, which had no barricades, warning symbols, or fencing of any kind. The police authorities said that the lack of reflectors or support made the region even more dangerous in the foggy weather conditions.
What did the eyewitness report?
An eyewitness reported that the administration is responsible for the death of a young engineer. He added that the techie pleaded for help, but the officials kept mentioning that the water was cold and there was a possibility of the presence of iron rods. As a result, nobody came forward to save the pleading man, the passerby said, as reported by the India(BHARAT)n Express.
Techie’s plea for help to father
The 27-year-old victim, Yuvraj Mehta, pleaded to his father, Raj Kumar Mehta, on the last call, “Dad, I’m drowning, please come save me,” in anticipation of being saved. Yuvraj was just minutes away from his house when he took the wrong turn in the dense fog and fell into the deep drain.
“My son was struggling to save himself. He kept repeating ‘papa bachao, papa bachao’ every time we spoke on the phone…He was also shouting ‘help, help’ so that the general public might hear his cry for help, but most of the crowd was just watching. Some people were making videos,” he told the ANI.
Investigation of the case
The unfortunate incident has sparked massive outrage; residents mentioned that there have been constant protests against the authority of M Lokesh for the immediate demand of reflectors on the service road, which was never addressed.
After the techie’s death, the victim’s family registered a complaint with the Noida Police against the two builders. In addition, a case has also been registered against MJ Wishtown Planner Limited and Lotus Green Construction Private Limited. The FIR has been lodged at the Knowledge Park Police Station, whose in-charge, Sarvesh Kumar, stated that any kind of carelessness detected, will lead to legal action.
