Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani participated in the “Celebrate Cinema 2025” festival being held at Subhash Ghai’s prestigious filmmaking institute, Whistling Woods International, in Mumbai. The “Celebrate Cinema 2025” festival showcased Raj Kapoor’s cinema, through which Gautam Adani shared his thoughts on India(BHARAT)’s development and economy. He recalled the song “Kisi Ki Muskurahaton” from Raj Kapoor’s film Anari, explaining that the song is not just a song but a philosophy.
Raj Kapoor’s influence and personal reflections
Gautam Adani said that Raj Kapoor was a hero who represented India(BHARAT)n culture. He also recalled his own struggles as a child, recounting how he left home with dreams and fulfilled them. Adani said, “I write my own stories. I grew up watching film heroes. Films taught us not to run away, not to be afraid, not to change our path even if the destination is far away.” In the presence of thousands of cinema students, Gautam Adani spoke about inspiring the youth and the entire creative industry.
Cinema as a force for national identity
He emphasized that cinema is a powerful medium and can play a vital role in establishing India(BHARAT)’s creative presence on the global stage. Gautam Adani’s session was attended by actor Kartik Aaryan, blockbuster filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani, producer Mahaveer Jain, and Whistling Woods founder Subhash Ghai. Each of these personalities added a unique dimension to the session.
