Popular Assamese singer and icon Zubeen Garg died after a tragic scuba diving incident in Singapore. The Yaa Ali fame was rescued by Singapore police from the sea and taken to the nearby hospital. The singer was rushed to the intensive care unit, and yet doctors declared him dead. The entire entertainment industry is saddened by the tragic death of Zubeen Garg. Condolences have been pouring in after the death of the Assamese celebrity.

Zubeen was in Singapore to attend the North East Festival where he was expected to perform on 20 September. His sudden demise has left the entire nation in sorrow. Assam CM Hemanta Biswa offered his condolences over Zubeen’s death on X.

Assam cabinet minister Ashok Singhal gave the tragic news via his X account. He wrote, “Deeply saddened by the untimely demise of our beloved Zubeen Garg. Assam has lost not just a voice, but a heartbeat. Zubeen da was more than a singer, he was the pride of Assam and the nation, whose songs carried our culture, our emotions, and our spirit to every corner of the world.”

Actor Adil Hussain, in his latest post, reacted to the tragic death. His X post read, “Devastated and shocked by the news of Zubeen Garg’s sudden death in an accident in Singapore. I am so very sad… His contribution to Assamese music and culture is extraordinary… He will live amongst us through his songs… Dear Zubee,n I remember you with lots love and fondness.. May his singing soul rest in peace and God bless his soul… Goodbye Zubeen.. Until we meet on the other side… Keep singing with your beautiful Voice and make Gods Happy (sic).”
