All-Out War! Iran issues Big Warning to US, says attack on Khamenei would mean…
Iran has warned that any attack on Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei could spark an all-out war. Tehran said it might restart executions after reports indicated that at least 5,000 people have been killed during the unrest.
US-Iran War: Amid rising tensions with the United States, Iran has issued a fresh warning that if Washington targets Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, it would directly lead to an all-out war, as officials stated that at least 5,000 people have been killed during the unrest. President Masoud Pezeshkian, in a post on X, said his country’s response to any unjust aggression by the US will be harsh.
“To any unjust aggression will be harsh and regrettable”, adding that any strike on Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei would be “tantamount to an all-out war against the Iranian nation,” President Pezeshkian said.
Pezeshkian’s Remarks Came In Response To Doland Trump
President Pezeshkian came when United States President Doland Trump repeatedly warned of possible military action if protesters continued to be killed. On Saturday, Trump stated, “It’s time to look for new leadership in Iran ”.
He further blamed America and its partner countries for the hardship his country is facing, stating that long-standing hostility and inhumane sanctions are a major cause of the current crisis Iran is facing.
Trump Thanked Iran’s Leaders
Amid the ongoing tensions, President Trump thanked the leaders of Iran for halting the scheduled executions of 800 detainees. He has move US military near Iran but they don’t have orders for any kind of action.
Meanwhile, Khamenei slammed the US President and termed him a ‘criminal’. He also confirmed thousands of deaths and blamed violence on US-Israel-backed terrorists and rioters.
Massive Protests In Iran
Massive protests erupted in December in Tehran, in which protesters raised issues like economic grievances. After some days, these protests turned political and spread across the Middle East. The protesters demanded an end to clerical rule.
Iran government cut the internet and deployed security forces on the street to stop the nationwide protests.
Possible Executions
On Sunday, Iran’s judiciary hinted that executions in connection with the protests could still go ahead. Judiciary spokesperson Asghar Jahangir these acts fall under ‘Mohareb’ – an Islamic term which means waging war against God.
“A series of actions have been identified as Mohareb, which is among the most severe Islamic punishments,” Jahangir said as quoted by Reuters.
In the video clips circulating on social media platforms, security forces can be seen using force to disperse crowds across several cities of the Middle East country.
