Bhumi Pednekar on Akshay Kumar reading his dialogues by cue cards: 'I asked him why he does this and he said…'

Bhumi Pednekar has recently acted in Bahkshak that’s streaming on Netflix. And in an interview with The Lallantop, she did talk about the film but also mentioned her co-Star Akshay Kumar with whom she has done two films- ‘Toilet Ek Prem Katha’ and ‘Raksha Bandhan’.

Kumar has confessed in the past how he reads his dialogues to save the unit’s time. And the actress revealed even though he does memorize his lines, there’s someone standing behind with the cues. She said, “Akshay sir actually memorises his lines. I asked him, ‘Why do you have this?’ He said, ‘So that I am in the moment’. So I was like, maybe its is his process.”

She added, “Somewhere there will be (a person), you will not even realise it. But the thing is that he knows his lines because he has done the lines with me before. So I don’t know his process… its is his own process.” Bhumi shared her own take on it and added, “I think maybe he feels some kind of security.” She also added that this is a “talent that everyone cannot have” and recalled what Akshay told her, “He told me that even Marlon Brando used to do it.”

And in an interview with Hauterfly, she spoke about one incident that happened when she was 14. She revealed she was groped in a public place but she still chose to be silent.

Bhumi revealed, “I remember this very very clearly. In Bandra, fairs used to happen back then. I was a teenager, probably 14, and was with my family. I knew what was happening… it’s not like I was unaware. I was walking and somebody kept pinching my a*s.”
