Weather prediction for Delhi-NCR

As per the India(BHARAT) Meteorological Department (IMD), Delhi-NCR is set to begin 2026 under intense winter conditions. The IMD has warned of severe cold, dense fog and spells of rain in early January. It has also predicted dense fog which is expected to blanket the region during the mornings of January 1, 2, and 3, sharply reducing visibility. Also, moderate to heavy rainfall is also forecast on these days. Notably, nights of Delhi NCR will remain cold and although no formal cold wave warning has been issued yet, the conditions could disrupt travel, air quality and daily routines across the region.

Dens fog to continue in January

The IMD has further said that moderate to dense fog is likely during night and early morning hours on most days of January, with visibility dropping from late night to mid-morning, especially in Gurugram, Noida, Faridabad, and Ghaziabad. Moreover, fog conditions are expected to be more severe in the first half of the month, while daytime temperatures are likely to remain largely stable. Also, readers should note that rain is also possible again on January 25.
