He is now frequently seen at Bollywood events and parties. However, there was a time when veteran actor Dharmendra banned him from leaving his home. He refused to leave the house or attend parties.

Why Did Dharmendra Stop Bobby Deol?

Now you might be wondering why Dharmendra imposed so many restrictions on Bobby? However, Bobby himself provided the answer. In a recent podcast, Bobby spoke openly about his career and family. Bobby explained how he wasn’t allowed to go anywhere after school because his father, Dharmendra, was very particular about his safety. He even learned to ride a bicycle inside his home.

Was Not Allowed to Go Out of the House

Explaining the reason behind his father’s action, Bobby says, “He was kept in such a way that once I come home from school, it’s over. I stayed at home; I wasn’t allowed to step out of the house. My father was very protective. I even learnt cycling inside the house. When I was in sixth grade, there used to be Ranga Billa, two people who used to kidnap children and kill them. Black Warrant depicts both of those characters. I was in sixth grade and a friend of mine was kidnapped. But among all the kidnapped children, he was the lucky one; he escaped and someone left him at a paan shop and ran away.”

Father Dharmendra Was Worried About Bobby’s Safety

Bobby further explained that the paan seller thought the child was from a good family and found out his address from his school uniform. Then the police came to his house. They told his father that the child had escaped from Billa Ranga, but when they asked the child who else was in his school, he mentioned his child’s name, so he should be careful. According to Bobby, after that day, his father forbade him from leaving the house. He wouldn’t go anywhere except from school to home. He wasn’t even allowed to attend friends’ parties at college.
