Dozens of Pakistani soldiers massacred in suicide attack carried out by female Baloch insurgent
A Pakistani security forces spokesman said that a suicide bomber attacked the Frontier Corps headquarters.
New Delhi: The Baloch Liberation Front (BLF) has once again launched a major attack on the Pakistani army. On Monday, 01 December 2025, heavily armed Baloch insurgents targeted a fortified military base in Nushki District, Balochistan. They first sent a female suicide bomber to destroy the base’s outer security perimeter. The remaining Baloch insurgents then opened heavy fire on Pakistani troops. The Baloch Liberation Front claims that dozens of Pakistani soldiers were killed in the hours-long exchange of fire. However, the Pakistani army claims to have killed three insurgents and suffered no significant casualties.
Attack on Frontier Corps Headquarters
A Pakistani security forces spokesman said that after a suicide bomber attacked the Frontier Corps (FC) headquarters in Nokkundi town of Chagai district on Sunday night, militants attempted to infiltrate the base. At least six attackers tried to force their way in. “The FC Quick Reaction Force immediately retaliated and killed three militants who managed to enter the headquarters,” the spokesman said. According to sources, BLA militants also targeted another FC outpost in the Gurmakan area of Panjgur, leading to an encounter. Several attackers are believed to have been killed in the incident, but this could not be confirmed at this time.
BLF’s Saado Operational Battalion behind attack
Resonant News reported that according to BLF statements, the target was the Central Compound for Foreign Staff, which houses the strategically important Sandak and Reko Diq mining projects. The BLF stated that its elite “Sado Operational Battalion” (SOB unit) carried out the operation. The Sado Operational Battalion is the BLF’s most elite and highly trained special-operations wing, responsible for carrying out the group’s most difficult, high-risk, and high-profile attacks.
What is the Baloch Sado Battalion?
Sado, a Balochi word meaning “thunder” or “thunderstorm”—is a symbol of sudden, dangerous attacks. This wing comprises an estimated 40-80 highly trained fighters. The BLF is currently led by Dr. Allah Nazar Baloch. An earlier group with the same name existed in the 1960s-1970s under Sher Mohammad Marri, but today’s BLF is a separate organisation that later adopted the name.
