Farah Khan takes a dig at Deepika Padukone’s work shift demand in her recent vlog: ‘Ab sirf 8 ghante…’

As per reports recently, actress Deepika Padukone’s exit from high-profile projects like Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit and Kalki 2898 AD Part 2 set off intense discussions. As per reports, Deepika demanded an 8-hour work shift, alongside requests for higher fees and profit sharing, became sticking points for producers.

Recently, filmmaker Farah Khan playfully touched this topic during one of her vlogs, adding her trademark wit to the ongoing chatter.

Deepika’s Exit and Makers’ Statement

The production house Vyjayanthi Movies, makers of Kalki 2898 AD, confirmed on X (formerly Twitter) that Deepika would not continue with the second part. Their note read: “Despite the long journey of making the first film, we were unable to find a partnership. And a film like @Kalki2898AD deserves that commitment and much more. We wish her the best with her future works.”

Soon after this, Deepika also wrote a cryptic post without naming anyone, She wrote, recalling her first lesson in the film industry: “The very first lesson he taught me almost 18 years ago while filming Om Shanti Om was that the experience of making a movie, and the people you make it with, matter far more than its success.”

Farah’s Lighthearted Dig

In her recent vlog with actor Rohit Saraf, Farah met his mother, who was making her on-camera debut after a long wait. Farah warmly hugged her and joked about the wait, comparing it to Deepika Padukone’s work decisions. She said: “Haan itna time toh Deepika Padukone ne nahi lagaya mujhe haan bolne mein,”.

To this, Farah’s cook, Dilip asked, “Deepika Padukone ma’am kab aayengi humare show main (when will Deepika ma’am come to our show)?”, Farah repiled“Jiss din tu gaon jaayega naa uss din aayegi (the day you go to your village, that day she will come).”

Taking a playful dig, she added: “Deepika Padukone ab sirf 8 ghanta shoot karti hai, usko show pe aane ka time nahi hai (She now shoots only for 8 hours, she doesn’t have time to come to our show).”

Deepika’s work policies have been doing the rounds for quite some time. The actress reportedly sought an 8-hour shift rule, a demand that did not sit well with multiple producers.
