Ghazwa-e-Hind: Security agencies arrest 11 Jihadis with links to Bangladesh, foil major conspiracy to destabilize Northeast

New Delhi: Security agencies in Assam and Tripura have achieved a major success as the police arrested 11 people, dismantling a large network linked to radical organizations in Bangladesh. Guwahati Police Commissioner Parthasarathi Mahanta said on Tuesday, 30 December 2025, that these arrests were made by the Special Task Force (STF) based on intelligence inputs from central intelligence agencies.

The accused arrested in Assam have been identified as Nasim Uddin alias Tamim (24), Junab Ali (38), Afrahim Hussain (24), Mizanur Rahman (46), Sultan Mahmood (40), Mohammad Siddique Ali (46), Rasidul Alam (28), Mahibul Khan (25), Sharuk Hussain (22), and Mohammad Dilbar Razak (26).

Large-scale Search Operation Was Conducted

According to Parthasarathi Mahanta, a large-scale search operation was conducted on Monday night in the Barpeta, Chirang, Baksa, and Darrang districts of Assam, as well as in the neighbouring state of Tripura. During this operation, a total of 11 jihadis were apprehended, who were directly working on the orders of radical groups active in Bangladesh. Ten of those arrested are residents of Assam.

Ghazwa-e-Hind

One of the accused, Jagir Mia, was arrested from Tripura. Police claim that those arrested are members of the ‘Imam Mahmud Kafila’ (IMK) module. The investigation revealed that their main objective was to destabilize the entire Northeast, including Assam. These accused were trying to establish ‘Muslim dominance’ in the region and were spreading the ideology of ‘Ghazwatul Hind or Ghazwa-e-Hind’. During the raids, police seized several suspicious items from them, although no weapons or ammunition have been recovered so far.

Instructions To Activate The India(BHARAT)n Module

Senior leaders of Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT), and Al-Qaeda (AQIS) had given instructions to activate the India(BHARAT)n module. Following the fall of Sheikh Hasina’s government, IMK’s Amir was released from jail, after which anti-India(BHARAT) conspiracies intensified. This entire syndicate was operating through a social media platform.
