Google expands its AI suite with Gemini 3-Based Nano Banana Pro for “High-Precision Image Editing”

Google has introduced Nano Banana Pro, a new image-editing and image-generation tool. Google has developed Nano Banana Pro on its Gemini 3 Pro large language model. The company has also shared a demo video on its official channel.

The Google Gemini 3 Pro Large language model (LLM) is the major system that powers Nano Banana Pro, and is a part of Google’s generative AI. Gemini Pro models support various languages and have been launched for both consumers and developers.

Google has already made Nano Banana Pro available within its Gemini application, allowing users to try the limited free generation of images. Google is also available to the subscribers of AI Pro and AI Ultra plans, and through the Gemini app, Nano Banana Pro is also available through Google Search’s “AI Mode”.

Gemini 3 Pro, the AI model on which Nano Banana Pro is built, offers visual consistency across multiple images, according to Google. The tool can blend up to 14 source images, and the appearance of up to five people can be maintained.

This means that the users like designers, content creators, and marketers can use the tool to generate images and have control over a set of elements and subjects in the images, something that many image-generation models have problems with in the past.

Google also says that the images can include readable text – from short labels and longer blocks of text to translated or localized words and phrases, across a wide variety of languages. This should make it easier for users to create poster images or social-media graphics and other creative content, as well as multilingual content.

Nano Banana Pro also offers light, angle, focus, depth-of-field, and background isolation, and offers image output quality up to 4K. Google says that the watermark can be removed only by the users of Ultra plan.

The company has also added a new feature in Gemini app which helps users check whether an image was generated by its AI tools. As part of this feature, a detection tool was added in the Gemini app which allows users to check if a specific image was generated by Google’s AI tools.

Gemini 3 Pro, and by extension Nano Banana Pro can also pull live-search data when prompted. If users request images that Google believes are dependent on real-time factors (weather conditions, live sporting event updates, and so on), Gemini 3 Pro can take advantage of the connection to Google Search.

Nano Banana Pro was released only days after Google’s Gemini 3 AI large model received a major upgrade. Gemini has become the first AI product to power the company’s new Nano Banana Pro. As a result of Gemini’s upgrade, the company’s shares have risen by nearly 25% in just over a month. Nano Banana Pro is another launch by Google in the space of image-editing tools. Image-editing and generation tools were previously the domain of creative software companies, and with Nano Banana Pro, Google has included advanced generative capabilities in a subscription plan.
