Now, share files between Android and iPhone in a flash by using this simple process

New Delhi: Google has made it easier for Android smartphone users to transfer files to iPhones. Using Google’s Quick Share, you can now share photos from an Android phone to an iPhone, similar to Apple’s AirDrop. This feature will initially be available on the Pixel 10 series and will later be rolled out to other Android smartphones. Simply turn on Quick Share on your Android phone, and like AirDrop, photos and videos will be transferred between the two phones in seconds. This eliminates the need for apps like O+ Connect. Google says Android users will now be able to send files from their phones to iPhones, iPads, and Macs.

This app will no longer be needed

This new feature has made file transfers between Android and Apple devices much easier. Previously, Apple’s AirDrop allowed only iPhone users to share files. Android users were not able to access this feature. Google’s own Quick Share feature didn’t work properly with other operating systems. They had to use the O+ Connect app to share files this way, but now, Android users will be able to AirDrop directly through Quick Share without any app.

This is how the feature works

Apple devices will appear in the full-screen Quick Share interface on Android, and if AirDrop’s 10-minute mode for everyone is active, they can be selected as sharing targets. Once the iPhone user accepts it, the file will be transferred. Similarly, Android devices will appear on iPhones, iPads, and Macs.

How to use AirDrop on Android?

This feature is currently available only for Pixel devices. To use it, ask iPhone users to turn on AirDrop and select the “Available for everyone” option. After this, the iPhone will appear in Quick Share on the Pixel. All you need to do is select that device and send the file. This process works similarly to AirDrop on an iPhone.

How to send from iPhone to Android

If you want to send files from your iPhone to your Android phone via AirDrop, the process is almost the same. You just need to make your Pixel 10 available to everyone. Then, the iPhone user will be able to send files via AirDrop.

How to enable it before using the feature?

To enable it, first go to the Pixel 10’s Settings. Tap your name at the top for Google Services. Then tap All Services. Now go to Privacy and Security. Then go to System. Now update the “Quick Share Extension” and reboot your phone.
