Indian Air Force Pilot Dies after Tejas Fighter Jet crashes at Dubai Air Show
Tejas Crashed: Indian Air Force’s Tejas fighter aircraft crashed on Friday at the Dubai Air Show. The accident took place after the fighter jet took off for a flying demonstration.
Tejas Crash: The India(BHARAT)n Air Force (IAF) has confirmed that the pilot of its indigenous HAL Tejas light-combat aircraft sustained fatal injuries after the jet crashed during an aerial display at the Dubai Air Show on Friday.
Black smoke was seen over the Al Maktoum International Airport in the video. The pilot of the fighter jet sustained fatal injuries and later succumbed to his injuries, the IAF confirmed.
The IAF has ordered a court of inquiry to ascertain the cause of the accident.

“An IAF Tejas aircraft met with an accident during an aerial display at the Dubai Air Show today. The pilot sustained fatal injuries in the accident. India(BHARAT)n Air Force deeply regrets the loss of life and stands firmly with the bereaved family in this time of grief. A court of inquiry is being constituted to ascertain the cause of the accident,” the India(BHARAT)n Air Force said.
Following the tragic crash, the authorities temporarily halted the air show and visitors were instructed to go back to the exhibition area.

Tejas Mk1A VS F‑35: It is a 4.5-generation multi-role combat aircraft that is specifically built to perform air-defence missions, close-combat operations and offensive air support. Tejas’s major USP is that it is one of the lightest and smallest fighter jets in its class. The Tejas program is the flagship programme of India(BHARAT). It is an effort to modernise the India(BHARAT)n Air Force’s fleet by replacing its ageing fighter jets and reducing the dependency on foreign suppliers. The first Tejas squadron – No. 45 ‘Flying Daggers’ – was inducted in the India(BHARAT)n Air Force in 2016.
