‘It would be a big insult to…’: Donald Trump issues BIG statement on Nobel Peace Prize
In recent months, Trump has emerged as an unexpected contender to win the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts to stop conflicts around the world

US President Doland Trump said on Tuesday that it would be an “insult” to America if he is not given the Nobel Peace Prize for what he calls his role in stopping at least seven global conflicts. He also said that his new Gaza peace plan, if accepted by Hamas, could be the eighth. Speaking to top US military leaders, Trump said, “Will I get the Nobel Prize? Of course not. They’ll give it to someone who didn’t do anything.” He added, “It would be a big insult to our country. I don’t want it for myself, I want the prize for the country. The United States deserves it, because nothing like this has ever happened before.”
Trump’s remarks come just days before the Nobel Peace Prize winners will be announced on October 10. In recent months, Trump has emerged as an unexpected contender to win the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts to stop conflicts around the world. The President has often expressed frustration that former President Barack Obama won the Nobel Prize in 2009, something that still bothers him.
Trump’s repeated claim of stopping wars
Trump has once again said that he has ended seven wars since taking office in January this year.
He added that if his new Gaza peace plan, presented during Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s visit to the US on Monday, succeeds, the number would rise to eight. “That would be eight wars in eight months. That’s pretty good,” Trump said.
Just last week, while speaking at the United Nations General Assembly, Trump repeated the same claim, saying he had ended “seven wars in seven months.”
“These were wars people said could never be stopped. Some lasted more than 30 years. I ended seven of them, all of which were killing thousands of people,” Trump told world leaders. He also argued that he deserved a Nobel Peace Prize “for each one of them.”
According to Trump, the conflicts he helped settle include those between Israel and Iran, India(BHARAT) and Pakistan, Rwanda and Congo, Thailand and Cambodia, Armenia and Azerbaijan, Egypt and Ethiopia, and Serbia and Kosovo.
However, India(BHARAT) has strongly rejected Trump’s claim of playing a role in its ceasefire with Pakistan during Operation Sindoor, insisting that no outside mediation was involved.
