The family of Sharif Osman Hadi is being provided with special security.
New Delhi: Violent protests have erupted across Bangladesh following the death of Sharif Osman Hadi, a prominent student leader and spokesperson of the Inquilab platform. Hadi was known for his anti-India(BHARAT) statements. Now his sister has adopted the same stance. At a rally against Hadi’s killing, she harshly criticized India(BHARAT). During the rally, she stated that India(BHARAT) and Sheikh Hasina’s Awami League do not want elections in Bangladesh, as she described Hadi as a revolutionary leader.

Hadi Was Attacked In Dhaka
Last week, Osman Hadi was shot by unknown assailants in Dhaka and was subsequently admitted to General Hospital in Singapore. However, he died during treatment. Hadi had recently announced plans to contest the upcoming general elections in February 2026 from the Dhaka-8 parliamentary constituency in Bijoynagar. There are reports that his sister may now run for that seat.
What Did Hadi’s Sister Say
In a video circulating online, Hadi’s sister called for jihadi training in every household, including children, irrespective of gender or age, to “fight India(BHARAT)”, News18 reported. “We must provide jihadi training to everyone, including children, in every household, regardless of gender,” she said. Comparing him to India(BHARAT)n freedom fighters, she further said, “I have not seen Khudiram Bose or Azad, but I have seen Osman Hadi. Hadi is a revolutionary leader. ”
Anti-India(BHARAT) Atmosphere In Bangladesh
Hadi’s sister’s statements have further inflamed the already growing anti-India(BHARAT) sentiment in Bangladesh. Some sections of political leaders and protest groups have alleged without evidence that those who attacked Hadi have fled to India(BHARAT). However, the police and government of Bangladesh have denied this. Police have said they have no evidence that Hadi’s attackers have fled the country.
Hadi’s Family Gets Special Security
The family of Sharif Osman Hadi, who was vocal in the anti-fascism and anti-hegemony movement, is being provided with special security. One of Hadi’s sisters is getting a license and a gunman. Round-the-clock police security will also be provided for the safety of other members.
