Koffee With Karan 8: Bobby Deol confirms he will star in Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan's directorial debut

Apart from a lot of other revelations, there was something else Bobby Deol spoke about on Karan Johar’s show Koffee With Karan 8. The actor confirmed he will star in Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan’s directorial debut. Deol has collaborated with Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment for two of his best projects- ‘Class of 83‘ and ‘Love Hostel‘.

He said, “I had to work hard. It doesn’t mean things will happen easily. Like Class of 83 is a subject, I always wanted to do those kind of subjects, but I never used to get them. When I got that, I think I have a relationship with Red Chillies. It started with Class of 83 and now Aryan’s show and then I did Love Hostel. They have always given me good stuff.”

On the tough phase of his career

He spoke about the phase when he was out of work for four years from 2013 to 2017, and said, “I gave up, I started pitying myself. I just took on drinking a lot, I was sitting at home. I used to keep cursing and saying, why don’t people take me? I am good, why don’t they want to work with me? I think I became so negative about everything, that there was no positivity coming from me. I used to sit at home, my wife worked.”

His son’s reaction

The actor further revealed, “Suddenly I heard my son saying, you know mom, papa sits at home and you go to work everyday. Something snapped in me. I just said, no I can’t! It was a slow process, when I got out of it, it took me time to get into the right mind frame to become okay. It can’t happen overnight.”
