New Delhi: The Xi Jinping-led Chinese authorities has expressed effort over the appointment of Uyghur fighters to high-ranking militia positions akin to Brigadier Stylish and Colonel in Syria. Significantly, these are the fighters associated with the separatist group “Turkistan Islamic Birthday celebration” (TIP) from China’s Uyghur Muslim-majority plot, Xinjiang.
“China is anxious about experiences suggesting that foreign fighters had been appointed to high-ranking positions within the Syrian military. These encompass fighters allegedly linked to the East Turkestan Islamic Drag (ETIM) or the Turkistan Islamic Birthday celebration (TIP),” China’s consultant to the United Nations, Fu Cong, talked about on Wednesday.
Syria appoints 6 foreign fighters to top militia positions
Reuters had earlier reported that the new appointments were made to 50 top militia positions in Syria, six of which had been given to foreigners. Among these were three Uyghur fighters linked to the TIP (Turkistan Islamic Birthday celebration). One among them, Dawood Khudabardi, in general is named Zahid, used to be appointed as a Brigadier Stylish, while two others, Mawlan Tarsoon Abdussamad and Abdulsalam Yasin Ahmed, were given the rank of Colonel.

The East Turkistan Islamic Drag (ETIM) is a separatist group based in China’s Uyghur province.
