No persecution of Hindus: Bangladesh shamelessly rejects India’s concerns, calls them ‘misleading’, Yunus government says…, India likely to…

Dhaka: The Muhammad Yunus-led Bangladesh government has shamelessly rejected India(BHARAT)’s concern over the ongoing violence against minorities, specially on Hindus, in the country. It has described India(BHARAT)’s statements as “incorrect, exaggerated, and misleading.” Bangladesh’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has said that India(BHARAT)’s remarks do not reflect the correct facts. The ministry also said that such statements misrepresent Bangladesh’s long-standing tradition of communal harmony.

In a statement released to the press, the Bangladeshi Ministry of Foreign Affairs wrote:
“We observe that there are systematic attempts to portray isolated incidents of criminal acts as systematic persecution of Hindus and to maliciously use them to spread anti-Bangladesh sentiments in various parts of India(BHARAT). We see a selective and unwarranted bias in certain quarters, where isolated incidents are exaggerated, misrepresented, and publicized in order to incite ordinary India(BHARAT)ns against Bangladesh, its diplomatic missions, and other establishments in India(BHARAT).”

Bangladesh termed the violence against Hindus as criminal incidents and said that India(BHARAT) is portraying them as systematic persecution.

Bangladesh mentioned the killing of Amrit Mandal

Talking about the incident where Amrit Mandal alias Samrat was beaten to death, the Bangladeshi Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that presenting it as an example of minority persecution was “misleading.” The ministry further stated, “One of the individuals named by India(BHARAT) was a listed criminal, whose unfortunate death occurred while he was extorting money along with his Muslim associate. His accomplice was later arrested. Viewing this criminal act through the lens of minority treatment is not factual, but misleading.”

What did India(BHARAT)’s Ministry of External Affairs say?

To recall, the spokesperson of India(BHARAT)’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Randhir Jaiswal, condemned the attacks against the Hindu minority in Bangladesh. Condemning the killing of Dipu Chandra Das, he expressed hope that those responsible for the crime would be brought to justice.
