Republic day 2026: Ministries turn policy wins into stunning visual displays

The Republic Day 2026 ministry tableaux offer a vibrant look at how India(BHARAT)’s key policies and development goals are being brought to life through art and storytelling. Each display transforms governance into a visual experience, highlighting reforms, innovation, and national progress.

Together, they create a panoramic snapshot of India(BHARAT)’s growth journey as seen through the lens of its ministries. Firstpost maps the behind the scenes journey of key tableaux.

Ministry of Education

Central message of the tableau by Ministry of Education depicts National Education Policy 2020 as the rocket giving the much-needed acceleration to reforms in India(BHARAT)n school education system propelling the nation to Viksit Bharat 2047.

Speaking to Firspost, Amarpreet Duggal, Joint Secretary, School Education said, “This tableau honours Bharat’s eternal knowledge legacy from Arvabhata’s pioneering Shunya to today’s vibrant learners under the proud arch of PM SHRI School, embodying the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.”

At the front of the tableau, Aryabhata blesses children holding Shunya and a globe, symbolizing India(BHARAT)’s contribution to the world as also the baton being passed to a future-ready generation, embracing a knowledge economy.

Ministry of Panchayati Raj

The tableau of the Ministry of Panchayati Raj presents the transformative impact of the SVAMITVA (Survey of Villages and Mapping with Improvised Technology in Village Areas) Scheme, launched in 2020 on National Panchayati Raj Day.

It shows how legal ownership of residential property in rural areas becomes the basis of security, dignity and self-reliance for citizens, Panchayats and the nation.

A traditional toran at the entrance signifies prosperity, while prominently placed house keys represent lawful possession and empowerment through SVAMITVA. Children playing near the house reflect confidence, security and stronger family foundations enabled by Property Cards.

Drone-based surveys are shown in a realistic electronic format, along with chuna marking and ground-level activities, highlighting accurate mapping and boundary demarcation. These elements convey the shift from unclear land records to authoritative digital property maps, supporting dispute resolution.

The tableau conveys a simple message. Secure ownership strengthens families, builds empowered Panchayats and contributes to an Aatmanirbhar Bharat.

Ministry of Information and Broadcasting

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting’s Republic Day tableau, titled ‘Bharat Gatha: Shruti, Kriti, Drishti,’ presents a sweeping visual narrative of India(BHARAT)’s civilisational evolution in storytelling, charting its journey from oral traditions to contemporary and emerging media forms.

The tableau is designed by filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali and the choreography is helmed by Kruti Mahesh.

Performing artists accompany the tableau, adding movement and continuity to the narrative. The theme aligns with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting’s objective of positioning India(BHARAT) as a global content hub, supported by WAVES 2025. The summit marked the “Dawn of the Orange Economy,” with international participation and business engagements.

Ministry of Culture

The Ministry of Culture’s tableau will depict ‘ Vande Mataram – The Soul Cry of a Nation’.

The Department of School Education and Literacy will highlight the National Education Policy 2020 and its role in advancing school education towards Viksit Bharat. The Ministry of AYUSH will present ‘AYUSH ka Tantra, Swasthya ka Mantra’.

Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO)

The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO)’s tableau significantly reflects India(BHARAT)’s scientific and technological development. With the theme titled “DRDO Naval Technologies for Combat Submarines – Sensor-to-Shooter Force Multiplier Capability,” it features India(BHARAT)’s indigenous mastery over complex submarine combat systems like the Integrated Combat Suite (ICS), Wired Guided Heavy Weight Torpedo, and Air Independent Propulsion (AIP).

Ministry of Ayush

The Ministry of Ayush’s tableau embodies the theme “Ayush ka Tantra, Swasthya ka Mantra,” highlighting India(BHARAT)’s traditional systems of medicine and integrating them into the national public health framework, in alignment with the theme of “Aatmnirbhar Bharat.”

The tableau shall feature 3D murals of Bharatiya therapies – Marma, Shirodhara, and Cupping – alongside Naturopathy, Homeopathy, Sowa-Rigpa, and Unani.
