New Delhi: The results of the high-octane Bihar Assembly elections will be announced tomorrow, with vote counting set to begin at 8 am. In view of the big day, the government has decided to keep school and all the educational institutes closed on Friday. It is important to note that apart from Bihar, a by-election was also held in Telangana’s Hyderabad district, for the 61-Jubilee Hills Assembly constituency.
Hyderabad’s Collector and District Magistrate Harichandan Dasari has announced that schools and colleges in the Jubilee Hills constituency will also remain closed on November 14.
Preparations for vote counting completed
The Bihar Assembly election results will seal the fate of 243 seats. Exit polls released on Tuesday unanimously predicted a comfortable win for the Nitish Kumar-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Bihar, with several agencies suggesting the alliance could come close to a two-thirds majority in the 243-member assembly.
Preparations for the counting process have been intensified, and security around all strong rooms near the polling centers has been tightened. According to the Election Department, all EVMs will be brought to the counting centers at the scheduled time, and the counting of votes will be conducted accordingly. All district election officers have been instructed to strictly follow the guidelines issued by the Election Commission for the counting process.
