Sharvari Wagh Speaks on Leading YRF Spy Film With Alia Bhatt After Years of Auditions: ‘Jisne 7-8 Saal Sirf…’ | Exclusive

Sharvari Wagh is rejoicing in the box office triumph of ‘Munjya,’ her first solo film as a leading star. The actor, who was recently in Delhi for the post-promotions of the Maddock Films-produced horror comedy, spoke about working on an action-packed film under YRF’s Spy Universe. The high-profile action picture will be the first project in director Aditya Chopra’s growing female-centric spyverse. Although the majority of the film’s information, such as its title and release date, is still unknown, Sharvari described it as a ‘very big step in her career.’

Sharvari implied that this was a huge step for her as all of Spy Universe’s previous releases have been borne by big superstars. “Spy Universe ki jo bhi films isse pehle aayi hai, have always been shouldered by these big superstars aur meri sirf ek film aayi hai isse aur yeh (pointing towards Munjya) dusri film hai. I think ek naye actor ke liye aur jo iss industry se nahi aata hai aur jisne 7-8 saal ke liye sirf audition kiya hai, behind the camera work kiya hai,” she said.

Adding to this, she continued, “I think jab aap aisa sawal karte hai ki mujhe aisa lagta hai ki shayad mein kuch toh sahi kar rahi hoongi. Usse zyada hum honestly humein pata nahi hota kyuki it’s an instinct aur at the end of the day it’s a blessing. And it just sometimes happens that you just work hard aur woh apke paas aajata hai so, I think that is exactly what happened with me and it’s the first female-led spy film, which is first of its kind so is ‘Munjya,’ first CGI character so I think these first of a kind films are what is really drawing me.”

Sharvari also shared some amusing stories from her time spent filming Aditya Sarpotdar’s directorial ‘Munjya.’ She also spoke about her off-screen bonding with the cast of the horror comedy and how they spent time on the sets. ‘The Bunty Aur Babli 2‘ actor revealed, “In between setup, actors kursi lagakar baithte the saath mein aur fir hum sab iss tangent par hassi mazak chalta hai toh fir yeh scene mein aana…”
