Shraddha Kapoor, Nora Fatehi to Orry: Mumbai ANC tracks celebrity footprints in Dawood drug network

Mumbai Police’s Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) has stumbled upon one of its most significant breakthroughs in recent years, a drug syndicate allegedly tied to underworld figure Dawood Ibrahim. What began as a routine crackdown has now expanded into a multi-layered investigation involving actors, rappers, influencers and industry insiders. According to a report by PTI, several well-known Bollywood names are now surfacing, sending fresh tremors through the entertainment industry.

According to investigators, the syndicate was being operated by wanted drug trafficker Salim Dola, a close associate of Dawood Ibrahim. With Dola running the network from Dubai and distributing mephedrone across different India(BHARAT)n states and even overseas, the operation was far larger than initially assumed.

Who are the celebrities named so far?

As per reports, individuals whose names have appeared in the probe include rapper Loka, actress Shraddha Kapoor, socialite Orry and the filmmaker duo Abbas-Mustan. Zeeshan Siddiqui, son of the late Baba Siddique, who was shot dead in October 2024, has also been mentioned.

The breakthrough reportedly came after the extradition of Dola’s son, Taher Dola, from the UAE in August. His interrogation has provided the ANC with crucial details that have reshaped the scope of the investigation.

What has Taher revealed?

According to India(BHARAT) Today, Taher has claimed that Bollywood actors, models, rappers, filmmakers and even Dawood’s relatives attended drug-fuelled parties organised by him in India(BHARAT) and abroad. The remand application states that Taher not only managed these events but also supplied the drugs consumed there.

Media reports quote the remand document saying, “The said accused has previously organised drug parties in the country and abroad with Alisha Parkar, Nora Fatehi, Shraddha Kapoor and her brother Siddharth Kapoor, Zishan Siddiqui, Ori alias Orhan, Abbas Mastaan, Loka and many other people and has himself joined in them and is supplying drugs to these and other people.”

The mention of Shraddha Kapoor and her brother has drawn particular attention, especially as Shraddha played Haseena Parkar, Dawood Ibrahim’s younger sister, in a 2017 film directed by Apoorva Lakhia. Siddharth Kapoor portrayed Dawood in the same film. Alisha Parkar, whose name also appears in the documents, is Haseena Parkar’s son.

Search interest in “Dawood Ibrahim” reportedly spiked sharply on Google in India(BHARAT) between November 12 and 13 as the investigation gained traction.

Who is ‘Lavish’ and what is his role?

Another name that has surfaced is Mohammed Salim Mohammed Suhail Shaikh, known in the drug world as “Lavish” for his extravagant lifestyle, which included luxury cars, branded watches and expensive clothing. Deported from Dubai in October and currently in the custody of the ANC’s Ghatkopar unit, he is believed to have organised similar drug parties both within India(BHARAT) and abroad.

Shaikh was first arrested after his deportation for his alleged involvement in a Rs 252 crore mephedrone seizure in Sangli district in March 2024. Police believe he was part of a larger international syndicate connected to the Dola network.

The ANC is now working to identify everyone who may have attended these parties. Officers are also checking whether other drug traffickers hosted similar events for celebrities. According to PTI, investigators have not ruled out questioning the personalities whose names have surfaced during the probe.

The case is still expanding, and officials expect more layers to unfold as they track the financial and logistical trails behind the syndicate.
